This is an English translation of the DB training publication and sets out the recommended work procedures for the maintenance of the permanent way on the German rail network. It makes reference to the appropriate DB guidelines.

The book covers inspection, renewal, maintenance and the installation of track and includes chapters on track formation improvements, ballast cleaning, tamping, rail grinding and CWR.
